Short-story :Second Love

Sheila's husband had not been talking to her properly. This time, the fight had lasted longer and this saddened her.And then her thoughts drifted towards Sujay.

He would never take her to expensive resturants or to the movies. He never gave her expensive gifts. It was still the age of innocence. The days of first love. That was way back in 1997 when they were still in school. They would walk for long miles just talking. Sometimes in the rain.Sometimes buy kulfi or mavinkai or jola on the way. They had thought that it would last forever...

Sheila then heard her husband's vehicle sound. She could identify it even from a distance.

"Came early from work today...
Look,I am sorry. I never thought about how you felt. Now,lets forget all about it. Get ready, lets go to a movie and eat out tonight"

She quickly hugged him, her face brightening.
Sujay was once again pushed back into the "Forgotten" area of her memory.

It is not very atypical for married women to have many "Sujays" in life and all the mushy-mushy kulfi jola stuff. But what a pity the "forgotten" area of the memory is periodically refreshed. The husband must be feeling like an absolute fool.

      Actually no :-)
The husband in most cases is not even aware of the wife's past. Just like the wife is not aware of the husband's past.

So, are we reading an Indianized version of "Sex and the City"?
